Product description

A full-bodied, extractive wine with a dark ruby colour, which gradually opens up in its expression and is thus intended for prolonged contemplation. The sweetly fruity and spicy aroma is dominated by notes of prune and blackcurrant, complemented by subtle hints of vanilla and tobacco. On the palate it has velvety tannins and aromas of dark forest fruits with a predominant trace of blackcurrant. The wine is very well suited to further ageing.

The LAHOFER winery is one of the largest growers of grapes in the Czech Republic.

Together with the company Vinice LAHOFER, it cultivates 430 hectares of land, for example on the lines Babičák, U Hájku, Volné pole, Waldberg or Lampelberg. This is where the LAHOFER Winery has placed the "Keep Your Head" wine programme. LAHOFER also takes care of the Paradise Vineyard on the historic terraces below the St. Nicholas Cathedral near the centre of Znojmo.

The composition of the vineyards includes practically all the main grape varieties grown in Central Europe. The predominant vineyards are Veltliner Green (16%), Riesling (13%), Müller Thurgau (10%), Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon, Muscat of Moravia, Pinot Gris, Riesling Welsh, Neburské, Tramín Red and Pálava. In the vineyards there are also lesser known varieties such as Kerner, Dornfelder, Blauburger and Alibernet.
