Founded by Jean Martell in 1715, the Martell Cognac House is one of the oldest cognac producers in the world. Martell Cognac has been a symbol of excellence since its birth. For 300 years of its existence, it has been part of the royal and imperial courts. It has been enjoyed by personalities such as George IV, Louis Philippe, Napoleon III, Alexander III, Francis Joseph I, Elizabeth II and many others. Today, the company's cellars contain the most precious eaux-de-vie, or grape spirits, a few of which were produced as early as 1830 - these are used in the production of the most precious cognacs.
Martell XO (short for XO or Extra Old) is an exceptional cognac made from a unique blend of eaux-de-vie aged for a minimum of 8 years. Martell XO contains 8 to 20 years of grape distillates. This cognac is characterised by the roundness of the Borderies grapes and the typical intensity of the Grande Champagne region. It impresses with its golden-copper colour and complex aroma, which starts with plums, continues with a hint of roasted almonds and finally culminates in cinnamon, honey and beeswax. The rounded and balanced fruit flavour is rounded off by spicy notes. Martell XO is sold in a special designer bottle, making it a great gift for your loved ones. Alcohol content 40%.
Taste: round with hints of figs and nuts and a fruity aftertaste on the palate, followed by the typical intensity given by the eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne region.
Aroma: Aromas of ground spices along with a complex of fruit bouquet, almond, beeswax and sandalwood blend into smooth and sweet notes.
Colour: Coppery amber hue with mahogany highlights.
