Stará Myslivecká RETRO is a traditional Czech spirit based on a fine grain distillate that acquires its character while aging in oak barrels. The RETRO variant combines the time-tested Stará Myslivecká recipe with a historically inspired label design, evoking the long tradition of both the brand and the U Zeleného stromu Distillery in Prostějov.

The production process is based on a carefully selected grain distillate, whose aging in oak contributes to the roundness and complexity of the final spirit. Blend master Roman Petruš oversees the selection of raw materials, the handling of the distillates, and the final quality.

Color: Amber with golden highlights.

Aroma: Fresh grain, vanilla, and subtle herbal notes.

Taste: Distinctive and warming, with notes of rye, dried fruit—especially plums—subtle spices, and wood. The character is complemented by vanilla and fruity notes from aging in oak barrels.

Finish: Pleasantly dry and woody, with lingering fruitiness and spiciness.

The bottle features a distinctive retro label with a traditional hunter figure, which references the brand’s historical image. About the Stará Myslivecká Brand:

The brand’s history is closely linked to the U Zeleného stromu Distillery in Prostějov, whose origins date back to 1518. On July 4 of that year, Vilém of Pernštejn and Helfštýn granted the right to distill to Ježi of Seloutek, a gamekeeper and owner of the house U Zeleného stromu. From its very beginnings, the distillery also focused on the production of rye spirits.

Among others, entrepreneur Luis Eckelmann and Jakub Vojáček, a pioneer in the production of rye spirits in Prostějov, later contributed to the development of the Stará žitná myslivecká tradition. Throughout its history, Stará Myslivecká has won numerous awards at international competitions.
