Dictador Platinum is an exceptionally aged Colombian rum from the Essentials collection, created by blending rums aged for approximately 25 to 35 years. It offers a rich, complex, yet very smooth character, intended primarily to be savored slowly.

Production:

The rum is aged in re-charred American oak barrels that previously held bourbon and port wine. Prolonged contact with the wood imparts distinct notes of vanilla, caramel, dark and white chocolate, coffee, dried fruit, and toasted oak.

The Dictador Essentials collection features traditional, long-aged rums from the Dictador brand. Platinum is one of its oldest and most distinctive representatives. It combines the deep complexity of long aging with a delicate structure and balanced sweetness.

The Dictador brand draws inspiration from Sever Arangoy, nicknamed "El Dictador," a Spanish official who oversaw the rum trade in Cartagena de Indias, the commercial center of the Spanish colonial empire in the 18th century. The modern era of Dictador began in 1913, when the family business of the same name was officially founded. Since then, Dictador rum has been produced with an emphasis on precision, craftsmanship, and long aging, now led by renowned master blender Hernan Parra, who is the third generation of the Parra rum family.
