Product description

Longmorn 23Y Speyside Special Edition is an ultra-premium Scotch single malt whisky from the Speyside region. It comes from the iconic Longmorn distillery and represents its oldest bottling. The whisky is aged in ASB – American Standard Barrel and hogshead American oak casks, which lend it sweetness, elegance, and a rich, fruity-creamy character.

Longmorn 23Y stands out for its balanced combination of sweet fruit notes, milk chocolate, vanilla caramel, honey, and subtle spices. It is non-chill-filtered and bottled at 48% ABV, allowing it to retain a fuller texture and a more pronounced aromatic profile.

Tasting Profile:

Color: Light copper.

Nose: Delicate vanilla caramel, milk chocolate, and honey. Hints of lemon cream and ginger also emerge.

Taste: Perfectly sweet, creamy, and balanced. The palate unfolds with milk chocolate, ripe pears, sweet red apples, spices, and gingerbread.

Finish: Sensually spiced, elegant, and long.

Longmorn 23Y Speyside Special Edition is a whisky for discerning connoisseurs who appreciate long maturation, hand-selected oak casks, an unfiltered character, and the typical richness of the Speyside style. It is ideal for slow sipping neat, preferably in a Glencairn, Speyside, or tasting glass. Thanks to its exclusive packaging, it is also suitable as a luxury gift or collector’s item.

About Longmorn Distillery:

Longmorn Distillery is a Scottish single malt whisky distillery located in Speyside, one of Scotland’s most significant whisky regions. Situated in the Moray area near Elgin, it has long been among the distilleries prized by connoisseurs for its rich, sweetly fruity, and elegant style of whisky.

The distillery was founded by John Duff together with his partners George Thomson and Charles Shirres. Production began in 1894, and Longmorn quickly earned a very good reputation among whisky merchants. The official Chivas Brothers archive notes that the press of the time was already writing about Longmorn as early as 1897 as a whisky that had rapidly won over buyers.

The name Longmorn is often associated with the Gaelic term Lhanmorgund, meaning “place of the holy man,” as the distillery is said to have been built on the site of an old chapel. This historical detail adds a distinctive story to the brand and fits the image of a traditional Scottish distillery with deep roots in Speyside.

Today, Longmorn is part of the portfolio of Chivas Brothers, which belongs to the Pernod Ricard group. The distillery thus remains connected to the world of premium Scotch whisky, and its spirit is used for both single malt releases and select blends.
