Terra Verde means "green earth". Like other A Clean Spirit products, it is based on the company's philosophy of sustainable production. Production takes place in the Dominican distillery AFD (Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos), one of the most environmentally friendly in the world. The distillery collects all the carbon dioxide released during the fermentation process in pressure tanks and then uses it to produce soda water. The vinasse (residual liquid from the distillation process) is sprayed on the fields as a natural fertiliser and the biomass is used as fuel in the distillation process. The distillery is thus not only environmentally friendly in many respects, but also self-sufficient in terms of operation.
After distillation, Terra Verde is aged in the Dominican Republic and spends 6 years in bourbon barrels. It is then bottled at 54% cask strength in recycled glass bottles. The label is made from sustainable paper and the cork is produced using a more environmentally friendly method without the use of glue.

Terra Verde XO Cask Strenght is bottled at 54.5% cask strength. The higher alcohol content, but also the higher sugar content (87,75 g/l), makes it a strong yet enjoyable spirit. It can therefore appeal to a wider audience and to anyone who likes sweeter tasting rums with character. The aroma and taste show the long maturation process in bourbon barrels. Notes of dark chocolate, caramelised sugar and orange peel emerge. The sweetness is balanced and in perfect harmony with the higher ABV. This is a powerful and complex spirit.
