This unusually extractive wine, coloured in summer moonlight, enchants at first with a rich fruity aroma of white peach or white currant, which gradually gives way to spicy notes. The taste is dominated by subtle peppery notes and blanched almonds. With prolonged drinking, the bouquet and flavour develop slowly, so that something new can be discovered all the time. We recommend this red Veltliner to accompany grilled meats or vegetables, and it is also a delight as an evening refreshment.
The LAHOFER winery is one of the largest growers of grapes in the Czech Republic.
Together with the company Vinice LAHOFER, it cultivates 430 hectares of land, for example on the lines Babičák, U Hájku, Volné pole, Waldberg or Lampelberg. This is where the LAHOFER Winery has placed the "Keep Your Head" wine programme. LAHOFER also takes care of the Paradise Vineyard on the historic terraces below the St. Nicholas Cathedral near the centre of Znojmo.
The composition of the vineyards includes practically all the main grape varieties grown in Central Europe. The predominant vineyards are Veltliner Green (16%), Riesling (13%), Müller Thurgau (10%), Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon, Muscat of Moravia, Pinot Gris, Riesling Welsh, Neburské, Tramín Red and Pálava. In the vineyards there are also lesser known varieties such as Kerner, Dornfelder, Blauburger and Alibernet.
