The light garnet colour of this wine with darker highlights is complemented by aromas of fine tobacco, freshly roasted coffee and smoke. The aroma is also reflected in the subsequent taste, which is dominated by more pronounced tannins and notes of dark forest fruit leading to plum jam. This wine can be enjoyed with game, grilled meats or higher quality, fattier cheeses, for example.
The LAHOFER winery is one of the largest growers of grapes in the Czech Republic.
Together with the company Vinice LAHOFER, it manages 430 hectares of land, for example on the lines Babičák, U Hájku, Volné pole, Waldberg or Lampelberg. This is where the LAHOFER Winery has placed the "Keep Your Head" wine programme. LAHOFER also takes care of the Paradise Vineyard on the historic terraces below the St. Nicholas Cathedral near the centre of Znojmo.
The composition of the vineyards includes practically all the main grape varieties grown in Central Europe. The predominant vineyards are Veltliner Green (16%), Riesling (13%), Müller Thurgau (10%), Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon, Muscat of Moravia, Pinot Gris, Riesling Welsh, Neburské, Tramín Red and Pálava. In the vineyards there are also lesser known varieties such as Kerner, Dornfelder, Blauburger and Alibernet.
