It is produced based of the results of work from 1894 by the famous Russian scientist D. I. Mendeleev. This father of the periodic table of elements presided a czarist government counsel, which focused on creating a norm and recipe for a high-quality Russian vodka. The norm, known as Ruskij Standart, decreed use of high-quality wheat and the smoothest glacial water, multiple distillation and filtration over charcoal for removing the dirt. The ideal alcohol content was stated as 40%.
Vodka Russian Standard was launched in 1998 by a Russian tycoon Roustam Tariko and thanks to its unique quality it became a ground model for all Russian vodkas in Russia. In 2006 this successful entrepreneur opened the most modern distillery in the world, and it is located in Russian Saint Petersburg. A part of a distillery is a production line with capacity of 22.500 bottles per hour.
