Product description

Moët & Chandon produces sparkling wines labeled as Grand Vintage since 1842, when French and English clientele began to demand more matured wines with personality. Since this year 43 extraordinary vintage rosé wines have been launched – the last one in 2013. The 2013 was a unique year in the wine-history. Mild temperatures during the whole year pushed the harvest into October. Due to several hailstorms during September a part of the harvest was lost, however the grapes, which have been harvested, were wonderfully ripened and balanced. This was especially true for the Chardonnay variety.

More than 250 years ago, in 1743, in the heart of Champagne region Claude Moët established the champagne house Moët. This became one of the main suppliers of French royal court and later became the favorite champagne of Napoleon Bonaparte. Since its inception this legendary champagne has been accompanied by the aura of grandeur. This is evidenced by such events like: the christening of the German Emperor Wilhelm II.’s yacht Meteor, which Alice Roosevelt threw a bottle of Moët & Chandon for good luck on; the win of Jo Siffert in 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966, when he christened the spectators with Moët & Chandon bubbles or ceremony at prestigious movie festivals such as Golden Globes.

The opening aroma is sweetish. The smell of red berries gradually complemented by the fresh aroma of blood oranges. During the finish, notes of spices (pepper, cinnamon and dark chocolate), dried flowers and leather come up.

The wine is intensively fruity and juicy. In the flavor you can recognize cherries and plums, which are complemented during the finish by grapefruit and lime.

This bold wine can nicely go with fish, vegetable or other type of meat and is served in a large wine glass.
