Dictador Gin Treasure is a premium Colombian gin with a distinctive citrus and herbal character. Its unique profile is derived from the local limón mandarino fruit, which combines the sweeter notes of mandarin with the fresh tartness of lemon.
Production:
The base is a neutral sugarcane spirit that undergoes up to five distillations. It is then combined with berries, herbs, spices, and citrus peels. The result is a fresh and complex gin that differs from standard London Dry gins not only in the ingredients used but also in its barrel aging.
Dictador Gin Treasure is aged for 35 weeks in oak barrels that previously held Dictador rums. Contact with the wood helps round out its flavor, adds a subtle sweetness, and blends citrus, herbal, and spicy notes.
Tasting Profile:
Color: Clear, vibrant, and full of luster.
Aroma: Mandarin and lemon complemented by mint, peppermint, pepper, berry notes, and the subtle sweetness of oak.
Taste: Full-bodied and balanced, with pronounced notes of mandarin, lemon, mint, and pepper. The traditional gin base is complemented by subtle barrel notes.
Finish: Fresh, smooth, and slightly spicy, with lingering citrus and herbal notes.
The aroma opens with mandarin and lemon. Gradually, mint, peppermint, pepper, berry notes, and a light sweetness of wood emerge. The taste is full-bodied, fresh, and harmonious, with a combination of mandarin, lemon, mint, and spices.
Serving:
Thanks to the smoothness gained through aging, you can enjoy this gin neat with a few ice cubes. It also works well in a gin and tonic or other cocktails where its citrus character shines through. Mandarin peel is recommended as a garnish.
Dictador Gin Treasure is an original gin for customers seeking a blend of citrus freshness, herbs, spices, and the subtle influence of rum-aged oak barrels.
About the Dictador brand:
Dictador was born in Colombia, a country famous not only for its coffee but also for its ideal climate for rum maturation. The result is a rum that appeals to collectors, lovers of rare editions, and lovers of sophisticated flavors.
The Dictador brand draws inspiration from Sever Arangoy, nicknamed "El Dictador," a Spanish official who oversaw the rum trade in Cartagena de Indias, the commercial center of the Spanish colonial empire in the 18th century. The brand is named after him, and this is where the story of Dictador as a rum with authority began.
The modern era of Dictador began in 1913, when the family business of the same name was officially founded. Since then, Dictador rum has been produced with an emphasis on precision, craftsmanship, and long aging, now led by renowned master blender Hernan Parra, who is the third generation of the Parra rum family.
