About the LAHOFER winery:
The LAHOFER winery is one of the most important wineries in the Znojmo region and is named after Jan Lahofer, a native of Dobšice and an artistic woodcarver whose famous carved library is now part of the Strahov Monastery in Prague. It was the story of this local craftsman that inspired the winery to name its brand after him.
The company's roots date back to 2003, when it was founded in Znojmo as První znojemská vinařská a.s. The turning point came in 2006 after the completion of the new production facility in Dobšice, when the winery adopted the name LAHOFER.
LAHOFER produces wines from the main Central European varieties exclusively from its own vineyards in the Znojmo wine sub-region. It cultivates over 430 hectares of vineyards, including renowned sites such as Lampelberg, U Hájku, Babičák, and Volné pole, making it one of the largest grape growers in the Czech Republic.
The construction of a new representative headquarters in the U Hájku vineyard, completed in 2019, was also a significant milestone. The modern building with its characteristic "concrete wave" connects production, administration, and visitor facilities, including the LAHOtéka, tasting rooms, and a viewing terrace. The winery thus offers not only quality wines, but also a powerful experience of the place, architecture, and surrounding landscape.
