Product description
Bache Gabrielsen VS is an exceptional cognac that embodies the determination and innovation that have defined the Bache Gabrielsen brand from the very beginning. Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen, the company’s founder, adapted to the challenging conditions during Prohibition in Norway (1916–1926) by modifying the label design to feature the iconic three red crosses—a symbol that, in white, still adorns these bottles today.
Production and Aging:
This cognac is a masterful blend of young, robust eaux-de-vie and more mature distillates. It is aged for at least two years in Limousin oak barrels, a process during which special attention is paid to developing its unique gourmet notes while preserving the essence of fresh oak. It is produced in the Charente region of France, specifically from the Ugni-Blanc grape variety, traditionally grown in the Fins Bois and Petite Champagne regions.
Tasting Profile:
Aroma: Rich and remarkably balanced, with hints of vanilla from Limousin oak, citrus fruits, and spices.
Taste: Smooth and fruity with a long and fresh finish.
Color: Coppery gold.
About the Bache Gabrielsen brand:
Bache Gabrielsen is a family-owned cognac house founded in 1905 by Norwegian-born Thomas Bache Gabrielsen. He arrived in Cognac, France, in 1903 and, two years later, together with Peter Rustad, took over the historic cognac house A. Edmond Dupuy. Today, the brand has been associated with four generations of the family and draws on a combination of French cognac craftsmanship and Scandinavian roots.
