Stará Myslivecká Single Barrel 9Y Port is a limited-edition Czech rye whiskey that was aged for a total of 9 years and finished in port wine casks. It is this finishing that adds a more pronounced fruitiness—with notes of grapes, dried fruit, and a subtle hint of wine—to the traditional character of Stará Myslivecká.

The edition consists of only 508 bottles sourced from barrels No. 96 and 97. Each barrel has its own distinct character.

Tasting Profile:

Color: Amber with golden to coppery highlights.

Aroma: Rich and fruity, with notes of grapes, plums, ripe fruit, and caramel.

Taste: Full-bodied and layered, with a fruity character, a hint of red wine, subtle tannins, and woody notes.

Finish: Long, fruity and woody, with a port-like aftertaste.

About the Stará Myslivecká Brand:

The brand’s history is closely linked to the U Zeleného stromu Distillery in Prostějov, whose origins date back to 1518. On July 4 of that year, Vilém of Pernštejn and Helfštýn granted brewing rights to Ježi of Seloutek, a gamekeeper and owner of the U Zeleného stromu house. From its very beginnings, the distillery also focused on the production of rye spirits.

Among others, entrepreneur Luis Eckelmann and Jakub Vojáček, a pioneer in the production of rye spirits in Prostějov, later contributed to the development of the Stará žitná myslivecká tradition. Throughout its history, Stará Myslivecká has won numerous awards at international competitions.
