Product description
J.P. Chenet Merlot is a delicate and fruity French red wine from the Pays d’Oc IGP region. It is made from the Merlot grape variety and stands out for its ripe, fruity character, balance, and pleasantly full-bodied, smooth texture.
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, then destemmed, crushed, and left to ferment for 6 to 12 days. Maceration takes place at a controlled temperature of around 25 °C and can last up to one month. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its rich aroma and clean fruit expression.
Tasting Profile:
Color: Deep garnet red.
Aroma: Aromas of red and black fruits, primarily red currants and raspberries, complemented by spicy and chocolate notes.
Palate: Ripe, fruity, and well-balanced, with a smooth and full-bodied character.
Recommended Serving and Pairing:
Serve at a temperature of 15 to 17 °C. This wine pairs well with smoked meats, sausages, herb-roasted chicken, vegetable dishes, and certain fruit desserts, such as raspberry cake.
About the Pays d’Oc region:
Pays d’Oc is located in southern France in the Languedoc-Roussillon region near the Mediterranean Sea. The warm and sunny climate here creates ideal conditions for producing aromatic and full-bodied red wines.
About the J.P. Chenet brand:
The story of J.P. Chenet began in 1984, when artist and entrepreneur Joseph Helfrich decided to create something completely new – a wine with personality, enclosed in a completely unusual bottle. Thus, Joséphine was born – a bottle with an iconic slanted neck and a distinctive shape, which became a symbol of the brand and a challenge for the glass industry.
J.P. Chenet brand was born out of a desire to bring a wine to the market that was affordable, reliable and original. The first two varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Blanc de Blancs, quickly became popular and launched the brand's successful international journey. Initially, the wines were sold under the name J.P. Chanel, in honor of Jean-Paul Chanel, a close associate of Joseph Helfrich and co-creator of the brand.
