Don Papa premium rum comes from an island in the Philippines, created at the foot of the active Kanlaon volcano, where the finest sugar cane is found, from which sweet and rich molasses is produced. After harvesting, fermentation and distillation, Don Papa rum is perfectly blended by a master in his field.

There is an interesting story attached to Don Papa. Don Papa was founded by the director of Rémy Cointreau, Stephen Carroll. During a trip to Bacolod, Carroll heard a story about how the area had the best sugar cane in the world. Until then, rum from this land was distilled in other areas of the Philippines. He then formed the Bleeding Heart Rum Company to produce rum on Negros Island, which is considered the sugarcane capital of the country. Don Papa is named after Papa Isio, the leader of the Philippine Revolution in the 1890s.
