Tommasi Valpolicella DOC is a traditional red wine from the Valpolicella region that represents a lighter, fresh, and very easy-to-drink style of Northern Italian wine. Tommasi has been producing it since 1902 and still considers it an authentic expression of the local terroir and the classic Valpolicella grape varieties.

Characteristics:

The cuvée consists of 60% Corvina, 30% Rondinella, and 10% Molinara. It is the Molinara that adds fresh herbal nuances, which balance the juicy red fruit typical of Corvina and Rondinella. The wine ferments at a controlled temperature of 25 to 30 °C for 12 days and then ages for approximately 6 months in stainless steel tanks.

The aroma is dominated by firm, juicy cherries and red fruit. The palate is fresh, harmonious, and elegant, with a light body and a pleasantly lingering fruity character. Thanks to its lightness, it is very versatile and well-suited for everyday dining.

It pairs excellently with pasta, risotto, white meat, young and medium-aged cheeses, or bold pizzas. The recommended serving temperature is 14 to 16 °C.

The 2017 vintage received 91 points from James Suckling and the Tre Viti award from AIS Vitae.
