Ron Jungla is a premium rum that bridges two islands, two seas, and two distinct aging processes. Its base is crafted in the Dominican Republic, where the rum ages in American oak barrels in the Caribbean climate. It is then transported to Mallorca, to the cellars of Bodegas Suau, where it matures in barrels that previously held traditional Suau brandy. The total aging period is approximately 11 years.

It is this second aging that creates the characteristic blend of Caribbean rum and the Mediterranean influence of brandy. The aroma features dried grapes, plums, toasted sugar, and cocoa, complemented by molasses, toasted oak, vanilla, roasted nuts, bitter almonds, and caramel. The subtle notes of brandy are a direct result of the final aging in Mallorca.

The taste is smooth, full-bodied, and well-structured. The sweetness remains balanced by a pleasant dryness and woody character, so the rum does not come across as overly sweet.

The brand’s symbol is an elephant with its trunk raised, inspired by a talisman that, according to family lore, Joan Suau carried with him on his travels. Today’s Ron Jungla builds on this history by combining Caribbean rum with Mallorcan aging.
