The Pahiyas Festival is held every year in May when it transforms the ordinary towns of the Quezon region into beautiful places brimming with abundance. Originally a pagan festival celebrating the harvest, it is now celebrated in honour of San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of farmers and agriculturalists. The festival is deeply rooted in the traditional thanksgiving celebrations that residents engage in to honour a successful harvest. During this period, colourful decorations made of rice paper in the shape of leaves, known as 'kiping', along with fruit and flowers, cover the facades of houses.

Don Papa Baroko is made from molasses on the Philippine island of Negros, where one of the sweetest sugarcane in the world is grown. It is then aged for three to five years in bourbon barrels at the foot of Mount Kanlaon.
