Organic Sincere Gin Bougainvillea is a fresh tropical gin based on sugar cane distillate, made from several types of citrus (sweet and sour oranges, mandarins, pomelos and three different varieties of limes). The whole fruit and the juniper are put into cane spirit and macerated at 50 °C for 24 hours. Other botanicals are then added, including the flower of the bougainvillea plant. This gives the gin its floral aroma and sweetness.
Sincere Gin is produced in Paraguay, using organic and locally harvested ingredients. From sugar cane, which forms the base of the spirit, to local citrus. In addition to juniper, other botanicals included in the gin are angelica root, star anise, iris root, cloves, cinnamon, red peppercorns, lemon grass and bougainvillea flower. All spices and herbs are organically grown.
The fruits are pickled with the juniper in cane spirit where they are macerated for 24 hours. Finally, hand-picked bougainvillea flowers are added. The macerate is then distilled (the citrus is still left in the pot), already with the other botanicals placed in a basket through which the alcohol vapour passes. The result is a deep red gin with notes of exotic flowers.
The distillery where Organic Sincere Gin is produced boasts Fairtrade certification. This ensures fair conditions and prices for all farmers supplying their raw materials to the distillery. The sugar cane is sourced from the distillery's own fields and the rest of the ingredients are purchased from local farmers.
