Production:

The foundation of Bombay Sapphire’s character is the gentle method of steam infusion. The botanicals are not boiled directly in the distillate, but their aromas are gently extracted using steam. Thanks to this, the gin retains a clear, lively, and elegant profile that is ideal for classic mixed drinks as well as modern gin cocktails.

Tasting Profile:

Color: Clear.

Aroma: Fresh, aromatic, and herbal-citrusy, with notes of juniper, lemon peel, coriander, and subtle spices.

Taste: Balanced and complex. Light notes of juniper, lemon zest, and coriander complement earthier notes of orris root and angelica, with a subtle spiciness from cubeb pepper and grains of paradise.

Finish: Clean, fresh, and slightly peppery-spicy.

Bombay Sapphire gin is produced at the Laverstoke Mill distillery in the English county of Hampshire. The brand uses the gentle Vapour Infusion method, in which botanical ingredients are suspended in perforated copper baskets above heated distillate. Rising alcohol vapors gently pass through the herbs, spices, barks, and other ingredients, extracting their pure and aromatic notes.

Bombay Sapphire still uses the original Carterhead stills, known as Tom and Mary, whose history dates back to the 1830s. Alongside them, the brand now also uses modern copper stills named Henry and Victoria, which help maintain high quality standards in today’s production.
