Mumm Ice Xtra is a modern alternative to the traditional demi-sec champagne wines of the Mumm brand. It has been specially developed for use in mixology. Thanks to the dosage liqueur from wines aged in Caribbean rum barrels, Mumm Ice Xtra is an original wine with exotic and woody notes.
Mumm Ice Xtra is an exceptional fresh champagne with a pleasantly rounded taste. This has been achieved with an innovative ingredient inspired by distillery practices - it is aged from reserve wines that have been matured in Caribbean rum barrels. Mumm Ice Xtra tastes best on the rocks or as part of a cocktail.
Thanks to the demi-sec dosage, Mumm Ice Xtra has a distinctive combination of roundness and freshness with subtle woody and vanilla notes that make it particularly ideal for use in mixology.
Mumm Ice Xtra is a pleasant, fresh companion for sunny days, a light lunch or just relaxing under the pergola.
Colour: Intense golden yellow shade with subtle amber highlights and vivid pearl.
Aroma: A subtle woody aroma transitions into exotic notes of vanilla pod with hints of ripe mango and pineapple, balanced by touches of praline and milky caramel.
Taste: The rich and explosive flavours of honey and nougat complement the sweet notes of praline, vanilla and cedar beautifully. It is elegantly round and structured on the palate. A refreshing touch of woody aroma enhances the sweetness.
Finish: Very long and pleasant.
G.H. Mumm represents one of the world's most successful champagne producers, whose products are distinguished by their premium quality and delicately smooth taste. The history of G. H. Mumm is linked to the originally German Mumm family, whose lineage dates back to the 12th century and includes the order of barons and knights. From 1761 they were in the wine business in Cologne and in 1827 they founded the champagne house G. H. Mumm in Reims, France. From 1875 to the present day, the G. H. Mumm brand has used the Cordon Rouge (red ribbon) label, which has made it one of the suppliers to the English Royal Court. Due to its German origins, the brand had a number of problems during the two world wars, but with the arrival of a new director, René Lalou, the brand flourished once again.
Achieve: 35 g/l (demi-sec). Dosage liqueur is made from reserve wines that have been aged in Caribbean rum barrels. This innovation gives the wine subtle notes of vanilla and cedar.
Serving temperature: Best enjoyed chilled to 6°C in a rocks glass or with the addition of a few ice cubes.
Ageing time: The wine is aged for at least 20 months in the famous cellars of the Mumm champagne house. After the addition of the dosage liqueur, it takes a further 2 months of ageing to allow the dosage liqueur to blend thoroughly with the wine and allow the perfect palette of flavours and aromas to develop.
Serving: Mumm Ice Xtra is great on the rocks with the addition of basil or a slice of grapefruit. It is also suitable for making simple or more complex cocktails.
Producer's address: La Maison G.H. Mumm, 34 rue de Champ de Mars, 51100 Reims, FR
