Ron Sostenible Rioja Cask is aged for a minimum of 8 years in American bourbon barrels, giving it depth and complexity. Subsequent maturation in different types of Rioja casks in Europe for 5 months, enhances its unique character and richness of flavours.

Sustainable production: 

Distilled in one of the world's most modern and sustainable distilleries in the Dominican Republic, where the emphasis is on minimal environmental impact. The distillery collects CO₂ from fermentation in pressurised soda tanks, uses vinasse as a natural fertiliser and biomass as fuel for distillation.

The distillery prides itself on good relations with employees and demonstrates social responsibility, for example by providing transport for schoolchildren from surrounding areas to and from school.

Sustainable transport and packaging: 

Once the rum has finished maturing, it is transported to Europe by sailboat without the use of motor propulsion, minimising CO2 emissions. The bottles are made from recycled glass and the labels from sustainable paper, while the cork is made without glue.
