Zacapa 15Y is a jewel among rums, a combination of a blend of rums and the tradition of many years. Produced in the heart of Guatemala, this premium rum is the result of careful selection and expert craftsmanship, making it a real treasure for rum lovers.
A unique production process:
Zacapa 15Y is made from pure virgin sugar cane syrup, a less common and more highly regarded alternative to the more commonly used molasses. This syrup is fermented and then distilled, giving it its characteristic depth and complexity of flavour.
Solera maturation system:
The rums are blended and aged according to the traditional Solera system, which combines rums of different ages, with an average age of 15 years. This process takes place at an altitude of over 2,000 metres, which contributes to the uniqueness of the final product thanks to the specific climatic conditions.
The rum is matured in barrels that have previously held bourbon, Pedro Ximenez sherry, port wine or cognac. This colouring gives Zacapa 15Y a richness and versatility of flavours, with hints of sweet notes and deep aromatic complexity.
History and heritage:
Zacapa rums are world-renowned for their outstanding quality and innovative approach to rum production. The Zacapa brand boasts a rich history and heritage that dates back to 1976, when it was founded to celebrate the centennial of the founding of the town of Zacapa in Guatemala. This rich heritage continues in each bottle, which is carefully crafted with an eye to preserving traditional methods and quality.
Enjoy Zacapa 15Y as an ideal aperitif or digestif, either neat, on the rocks or as part of a sophisticated cocktail. With every sip of Zacapa 15YO, be reminded of the luxury and depth of genuine Guatemalan rum, which is literally a work of art in a bottle.
