History and present of Bottega:

In 1635, Andrea Bottega began growing grapes on the hills of Molinetto della Croda in Refrontola. The original Bottega family were tenants of a local noble family, but later gained their freedom and started farming their own land.

1950s and 1960s: Aldo Bottega expanded the family's passion for grappa and developed several innovations, including the first monovarietal grappa.

1983: After the death of founder Aldo Bottega, his son Sandro took over the management of the company along with his sister Barbara and brother Stefano.

1992: Il Vino dei Poeti Prosecco Spumante is founded.

Now Bottega is recognized worldwide, their products are available in over 160 countries and have won over 450 awards. In 2022, Bottega Gold became the best-selling sparkling wine in travel retail.

2007: Distilleria Bottega moves to Bibano di Godega, a large estate surrounded by vineyards.

2023: Opening of a new winery in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the heart of Chianti Classico.
