MUNAKRA Experimental Collection 2024 Chardonnay Cask Rested Gin is a limited edition for those looking for an unusual gin with a clear signature of craftsmanship and experimentation. Only 500 bottles of this edition were produced, demonstrating how barrel aging and subsequent infusion can transform classic gin into an exceptionally layered and original spirit.

Production:

The base is MUNAKRA Night Blossoms Dry Gin, which was aged for 45 days in an oak barrel previously used for Chardonnay from the Dungel winery in Leobersdorf, Lower Austria. It is this barrel that gives the gin subtle notes of white fruit and nuts, which blend beautifully with the originally fruity and floral character of the spirit. Finally, the gin undergoes a Chardonnay infusion, which completes its smoothness, freshness, and characteristic profile.

The result is an unusual taste experience with an elegant overlap into the world of wine. The expression mainly features lemons and apples, complemented by a subtle barrel complexity and slightly nutty nuances. This is a gin for slow discovery, tasting, and moments when you want to try something truly different.

MUNAKRA is a Viennese brand of handcrafted spirits, whose name was created as an anagram of the Latin word for "secret". While preparing their first distillation attempt, Sarah and René discovered a blue snake in the woodshed – a special moment that inspired the creation of a spirit that would be just as mysterious and unforgettable.

Each MUNAKRA spirit is the result of long experimentation and work with more than 16 botanical ingredients. Production takes place traditionally in a 150-liter copper distillation kettle to best bring out the purity and authenticity of the flavors. Each bottle is hand-filled, labeled, sealed, and numbered, making it an original piece with its own character.
