Kartoff Vodka is a premium potato vodka that continues a long tradition of producing vodka not only from grain, but also from potatoes. This is what distinguishes it from ordinary grain vodkas – it has a smoother, more refined character with a slightly sweet taste that is typical of high-quality potato vodka.
Production:
The basis is a special potato variety called Hermes with a high starch content. After sorting, the potatoes are transported to the distillery, where they are crushed, yeast and water are added, and the resulting fermented mash then undergoes multiple stages of distillation in a column. To ensure the final quality, only the heart of the distillate is used, to which special ingredients are added according to the distillery's closely guarded traditional recipe.
Serving:
Kartoff Vodka will appeal mainly to lovers of pure and delicate vodkas who want to try something different from the classic grain style. Thanks to its smoothness, it is suitable for serving well chilled neat, but it also works great as a base for mixed drinks.
About Horvath's Spezereyen Kontor:
The grandparents of Gerhard Horvath, the company's founder, who came from Pamhagen in Burgenland, ran not only a small farm mainly growing vegetables, but also a winery. Even then, meat and smoked meats were produced from their own slaughter, and their own spirits were distilled.
Based on his rural roots, his grandson Gerhard Horvath began to develop his own innovative ideas, researching and experimenting with old recipes, and also began to create culinary gifts. In 1996, he and his wife founded Horvath's Spezereyen Kontor, whose philosophy is to perfect Austrian dishes and offer them in a high-quality and innovative form that reflects the spirit of the times.
The company's effectiveness is underlined by its export activities, in particular the export of Austrian potato vodka. Both sons, Andreas and Philipp, are continuing the tradition of working on new, innovative products and seeking new opportunities to enter new markets for Spezereyen Kontor by Horvath's. So the family story continues—to the delight of customers—and for the joy of good food!
