Zacapa is a town in Guatemala approximately 112 km from Guatemala City. The name Zacapa comes from the Aztec language Nahuatl and means "on the river of grass".
Zacapa rum was created in 1976 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Zacapa.
