Heimat Gin is a handcrafted German gin that stands out for its exceptional complexity, smoothness, and authentic craftsmanship. It comes in a distinctive half-liter clay bottle with a cork stopper, on which the HEIMAT logo is burned. This traditional container helps to develop the flavors and aromas even better than classic glass bottles.
Inside is a blend of 18 carefully selected botanicals, among which sage, thyme, plantain, apples, pears, lavender, roses, juniper, and ginger stand out. All ingredients are largely locally sourced, processed, and then distilled in small batches. Heimat Gin thus combines traditional production methods with a modern emphasis on quality and integrity.
Tasting profile:
Color: Clear with high viscosity, typical of quality craft gins.
Aroma: Complex and delicate. Dominated by sage, thyme, and lavender, complemented by fruity notes of ripe apples and pears, underscored by a light touch of roses and ginger. The aroma is balanced and elegant.
Taste: Smooth, full-bodied, and exceptionally delicate. Notes of vanilla and caramel from oak barrels appear, harmoniously intertwined with the herbal character of thyme and sage and the fruity freshness of apples and pears. Ginger adds a subtle touch of spiciness.
Finish: Long, balanced, and very elegant, with lingering herbal and slightly sweet notes.

About the HEIMAT brand:
The HEIMAT distillery is located in an old stone building with decades of history, which the team literally brought back to life after extensive renovation. The idea for their own gin was born in 2017 as a bold idea of three friends who grew up in families with more than five generations of distilling tradition. Based on this passion, they began to create their own recipe — originally just "for the rest of their lives."
However, the response from the community started a new story. In 2018, after the renovation was completed, the distillation boiler was heated up for the first time and HEIMAT Distillers was born. Today, the distillery is a place where premium gins are handmade with an emphasis on local ingredients, honest craftsmanship, and unique character.
Visitors can visit the distillery in Schwaigern-Niederhofen and watch the masters of distillation at work — and, of course, taste the resulting products.
