Ron Cristobal Santa Maria Moscatel belongs to the series of limited editions of premium rums. This rum has been aged for 20 months in French oak wine barrels.
This rum was bottled in October 2021 in a mere 1,776 bottles.
The aroma has notes of caramel and lightly burnt toffee, which then transitions into a more subtle aroma of marshmallows. The palate is fuller and sweeter with buttery notes, grapes and candied fruit. The finish is long, mild and pleasantly sweet.
Cristobal Colón, better known as Christopher Columbus, was an explorer, navigator and coloniser who made four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1492, he landed on the island that was to become his most important discovery - Haiti. On this voyage, Columbus sailed on three ships - the Pinta, the Niña and the Santa Maria. It was his ships that gave their names to the various Ron Cristóbal rums.
