Hermès Un Jardin En Méditerranée is the first fragrance in the Parfums-Jardins collection, created in 2003 by perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena. This eau de toilette captures the atmosphere of a secret Mediterranean garden in Tunisia, hidden between the sea and the sun, full of trees, flowers, and warm air. It is not a classic citrus freshness, but a calm, sensual and contemplative fragrance that connects nature, light and silence.
Characteristics:
The composition is fruity-woody, delicate and very natural. The introduction belongs to the juicy tones of the fig tree, which are not sweet, but green and milky, evoking leaves and fruits warmed by the sun. In the middle, green lentisk (a Mediterranean resinous plant) unfolds, giving the fragrance a dry, slightly aromatic and elegantly herbal character. The whole is rounded off by delicate oleander (pink laurel), which brings a soft floral accent and a feeling of Mediterranean calm.
Hermès Un Jardin En Méditerranée is a fresh, delicate and subtly elegant fragrance, ideal for those looking for a non-perfumed, natural and sophisticated alternative to common summer fragrances. It is perfect for everyday wear, especially in spring and summer, but thanks to its balance, it can also be worn in warmer climates throughout the year. It is unisex and very distinctive.
Fragrance profile:
Top notes: Fig tree.
Middle notes: Green lentisk.
Base notes: Oleander (pink laurel).
Bottle design:
Designed by Fred Rawyler and inspired by horse-drawn carriage lanterns, the bottle is shrouded in a soft blue gradient reminiscent of the reflections of the Mediterranean Sea. The illustration on the box by Aurore de la Morinerie completes the poetic atmosphere of the south of France and the Mediterranean.
Hermès Un Jardin En Méditerranée is the scent of silence, sun, and shade under a fig tree—unobtrusive yet profound, perfectly in keeping with the Hermès philosophy.
