Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut is an exceptionally crisp and fresh champagne with no added sugar. This pioneering cuvée was launched in 1981 and helped define the Brut Nature category—champagnes produced without a final dosage.
Production:
The base consists of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir from fifteen selected crus. The grapes are selected with exceptional care to offer an optimal balance between ripeness and natural acidity. It is precisely this that allows the wine to achieve harmony, purity, and length without the addition of sugar after disgorgement.
The champagne ages for approximately six years, during which it develops finesse, complexity, and an elegant structure. The result is an airy, precise, and delicate wine with citrus, floral, and subtly mineral notes.
Tasting Profile:
Color: Very pale, crystal-clear, and radiant.
Aroma: Intense and complex, with citrus, white fruit, honeysuckle, and subtle iodine notes that enhance the impression of freshness.
Palate: Airy, delicate, and exceptionally clean, with lively acidity, citrus freshness, and a precise mineral structure.
Finish: Long, clean, and fresh, with lingering citrus and mineral notes.
Serving and Pairing:
Thanks to its purity, it works well as an aperitif and in gastronomy. It pairs excellently with fish, sushi, seafood, Pata Negra ham, or young Parmesan. Its gift packaging also makes it a prestigious choice for special occasions.
Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut is ideal for lovers of very dry and fresh champagnes. It is neither sweet nor heavy, allowing the quality of the grapes, the character of the individual crus, and the precision of the production to shine through.
About the Laurent-Perrier brand:
Laurent-Perrier is a prominent family-owned and independent champagne house whose history began in 1812 in the village of Tours-sur-Marne. It was then that André-Michel Pierlot settled there and founded the business that would later become Maison Laurent-Perrier.
An important chapter began in 1939 with Marie-Louise de Nonancourt, who purchased the company and helped it weather the difficult wartime period. In 1948, her son Bernard de Nonancourt took over the leadership, creating a modern style for the house based on freshness, elegance, and purity.
Laurent-Perrier has long been considered an innovator in the Champagne region. In addition to working with reserve wines, the house became famous for its rosé champagne produced through maceration, as well as its non-dosage champagnes. Ultra Brut, launched in 1981, became one of the first modern representatives of the Brut Nature category.
