Corazón Añejo is an aged tequila made from 100% Weber blue agave, aged 16 to 18 months in American oak barrels. This gives it a medium amber color, a smoother texture, and a richer aromatic profile that blends the agave base with spicy, woody, and coffee notes.
Tasting Profile:
Color: Medium amber.
Nose: Fresh, reminiscent of a green forest, with harmoniously integrated notes of spice.
Palate: Light, spicy, and aromatic, with notes of spiced tobacco, burnt moss, and coffee. Delicate yet distinctive.
Finish: Spicy, warming, and elegantly woody.
Thanks to aging in American oak barrels, Corazón Añejo is best enjoyed slowly, neat. It will be appreciated by customers seeking a tequila with a deeper, spicier, and more barrel-aged character, yet who do not want a heavy or overly sweet spirit.
Awards:
The quality of this tequila is also confirmed by awards: gold medals from the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition 2019 and 2018 and the title of Best Tequila Añejo from the World Drink Awards 2016.
Corazón Añejo is a tequila for lovers of a more mature, spicy, and aromatic style. It combines the pure origin of 100% agave, barrel aging in American oak, and award-winning quality into an elegant spirit suitable for quiet sipping.
Corazón Tequila:
Corazón Tequila is a Mexican tequila brand built on more than 130 years of experience, family tradition, and respect for the very heart of the agave. The name Corazón refers to the piña, or the heart of the Weber blue agave from which the tequila is made. It also expresses the passion of the people behind the brand—from agave growers to the artisans in the distillery.
Corazón tequila is made from 100% Weber blue agave grown in the mountainous region of the Mexican state of Jalisco. It is the local soil, rich in iron oxide, and the significant temperature differences between warm days and cool nights that create the conditions in which the agave matures more slowly and develops a more concentrated character. The resulting agave juice forms the basis for tequilas with a clean, distinctive, and authentic profile.
Behind the production of Corazón tequilas stands the family-owned distillery Casa San Matías in the mountains of Jalisco. Production is overseen by Carmen Villarreal, who continues the family tradition while also promoting a modern approach to production.
Casa San Matías is among the distilleries actively committed to more sustainable operations. It was the first tequila distillery to join a UN program focused on carbon footprint reduction. Part of its approach includes, for example, its own biogas reactor, which processes organic waste from distillation and converts it into renewable energy and fertilizer.
