Phraya Elements 7Y is a quality rum aged for 7 years in French oak over the lagoons. At the heart of this rum is high-quality molasses sourced from one of the world's largest sugar cane growing areas, where nature remains untouched. The maturation of Phraya rum follows the tradition of aging the spirit in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, which are stored and left to breathe quietly beside sleepy lagoons. After a period of time, a master blender hand-selects the contents from the various aged and fired barrels and ingeniously blends the selected rum to perfection.
One of the many ancient philosophies originating in the Orient is that any physical matter in the universe is an amalgamation of the elements commonly known as earth, water, fire and air. The combination of these elements in various proportions provides a visible and sensory distinction of objects and lives.
PHRAYA's invention draws inspiration from this belief in order to create a blend of exquisite taste and experiential sensations for the world. Each element plays a vital role in creating the unique look and character of PHRAYA, as follows:
Earth
The soil in central Thailand is known for its rich and fertile soil. It is said that the crops and fruits grown in this area yield the most tempting flavours. Sugarcane specially grown for PHRAYA is grown in Kanchanaburi, one of the largest sugarcane growing areas where nature remains untouched. This soil forms the heart of this remarkable rum
Water
Water has played an integral part in the lives of Thais throughout the ages, from the early settlement of rivers to its vital role in Thai agriculture. PHRAYA is distilled from the soft natural water of the Ta Chin River, lending it a delicate balance.
Fire
Fire is used to scorch the oak barrels used to age the rum. Its fiery characteristic enlivens the wood of the handcrafted casks to give it sweet and spicy nuances.
Air
Selected rum spends years resting in oak barrels next to lagoons, where the air gives the rum enough time to develop its inimitable and unforgettable flavour.
