Eminente Gran Reserva Edition No. 1 is a 10-year-old Cuban rum made from a blend of light rum and aguardiente (sugarcane spirits considered the soul of Cuban rums), aged in French oak barrels. Eminente Gran Reserva Edition No. 1 contains 80% aguardiente and has an alcohol content of 43.5%. It can be enjoyed neat or over a large ice cube.

Characteristics:

César Martí, the youngest rum master in Cuban history, is known for his experiments with aging aguardiente, which he stores in various environments and different types of barrels. Thanks to his knowledge and experience, he is considered a rum enologist. The first edition of Eminente Gran Reserva rum is the result of his latest experiment.

Eminente Gran Reserva Edition No. 1 was created using 80% aguardiente, which he aged under specific conditions in a dry cellar where water evaporates faster than alcohol. The resulting blend of aguardiente and light rum ages for at least ten years and then matures for three months in French oak barrels. Maturation in French oak barrels adds complexity to the rum, as well as a certain balance of flavor with notes of honey, sandalwood, and orange blossom.

Tasting Profile:

Color: A vibrant mahogany color with red highlights.

Aroma: Initial aromas of freshly roasted coffee, red fruit, and flowers give way to notes of honey and vanilla with a pleasant, almost minty freshness.

Taste: Harmonious, creamy, and deep, with fruity notes. Dried apricots and orange blossoms dominate, with hints of sandalwood, hazelnut, and allspice.

Finish: A long and silky finish with spicy notes of Sichuan pepper and a subtle hint of caramel, pine sap, and saffron.
