In 1838, Albert, in his new pharmacy, begins to experiment with the fermentation of sugar cane juice. His first product will be "bay rum". A product that is recommended as medicine or aftershave... Only much later, after many more attempts, does it develop into the rum we know today. This certainly contributed to the later prosperity of the A.H. Riise brand. In addition, however, Albert was also successful in selling bitter drinks, which were used in ancient times as a cure for stomach problems. His interest in botany and the use of exotic Caribbean plants, skill, enormous talent and attention to detail are still reflected in A.H.Riis products today.

The calendar pays tribute to everything that Albert Heinrich Riise managed to achieve, and most importantly, that thanks to him, one of the best rum distilleries in the world was created.
