Takamaka Rum Pti Lakaz #2 is a rum that is a great example of the extraordinary possibilities offered by aging in the tropical environment of the Seychelles. This traditional Seychelles cane rum is the result of a masterful blending of pot and column stills aged in four different types of casks, including two port wine casks. The combination with a molasses rum, aged for three years in ex-bourbon, and an eight-year-old Foursquare molasses rum from Bajan, gives this rum a unique character and depth.
Takamaka Rum Pti Lakaz #2 is offered without the addition of coloring or sugar and is unfiltered, ensuring that its authentic and rich profile is preserved. On the palate, you'll discover rich nuances of dried apricots, complemented by notes of star anise and dried cocoa beans, leading to a complex finish full of dry spice.
Takamaka Rum Pti Lakaz #2 from the St. André series is more than just a rum; it is a testament to the art of distillation and aging that embodies the spirit of the tropical island and showcases the endless possibilities that the Seychelles climate offers for rum production. Prepare for a unique experience with every sip of this exceptional rum.
In 2000, inspired by the family tradition and his grandfather's skill in making Creole Arrangé Rum, Bernard and his father Robert set out to produce a quality rum. With improvised tools, including a swimming pool as a cooling tower and commonly available ingredients, they began experimenting at home. After a year of testing and development, joined by Bernard's older brother Richard, they founded Trois Frères Distillery in the Seychelles in February 2002. Overcoming the challenges of remoteness and harnessing their curiosity, the brothers perfected the production of rum, which has become not only a symbol of their family heritage but also an expression of their approach to life and work.
