1731 Fine&Rare Barbados 8Y is aged for a minimum of 8 years in barrels that previously contained bourbon. The blend consists of rums made from two types of distillation - pot still, which adds aromatic richness and intensity; and column still, which in turn "smooths" the rum and adds elegance. Nose: Light, woody notes, vanilla, sour jelly candy, then strawberry, cherry and lightly toasted nuts.
