Dictador Checa Lion 1999 is an extraordinary limited edition created exclusively for the Czech Republic. It combines the South American character of the Dictador brand with references to Czech national symbolism and was produced in a strictly limited run of just 339 bottles. As a result, it is not only an exceptional rum for tasting but also an attractive collector’s item for discerning lovers of premium spirits.
This exceptional spirit was born in 1999 in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. It was aged in American oak barrels, which imparted depth, structure, and a refined woody base. The final three-year finish in port wine casks gave it smoothness, a subtle sweetness, and a more pronounced fruity profile.
Tasting Profile:
Aroma: Exotic mango, toasted almonds, black tea, and pink pepper.
Taste: Velvety and rich, with notes of sweet dates, juicy pineapple, and fig leaf.
Finish: Long and elegant, with notes of white chocolate and bourbon oak.
The aroma is exotic and layered, with notes of mango, roasted almonds, black tea, and pink pepper. The palate is velvety, rich, and full-bodied, with notes of sweet dates, juicy pineapple, and an unconventional hint of fig leaf. The long, elegant finish brings white chocolate and refined bourbon oak.
Dictador Checa Lion 1999 is a full-bodied rum with a harmonious structure and a gradually unfolding interplay of flavors. Thanks to the limited number of bottles and the symbolism of the Czech Lion, it is a prestigious bottle for a collection, a festive occasion, or an exceptional gift.
About the Dictador brand:
Dictador was born in Colombia, a country famous not only for its coffee but also for its ideal climate for rum maturation. The result is a rum that appeals to collectors, lovers of rare editions, and lovers of sophisticated flavors.
The Dictador brand draws inspiration from Sever Arangoy, nicknamed "El Dictador," a Spanish official who oversaw the rum trade in Cartagena de Indias, the commercial center of the Spanish colonial empire in the 18th century. The brand is named after him, and this is where the story of Dictador as a rum with authority began.
The modern era of Dictador began in 1913, when the family business of the same name was officially founded. Since then, Dictador rum has been produced with an emphasis on precision, craftsmanship, and long aging, now led by renowned master blender Hernan Parra, who is the third generation of the Parra rum family.
