Diplomático Single Vintage 2008 is an exceptional Venezuelan rum, created only in years when the Maestros Roneros team evaluates that the rum of that vintage has matured in an extraordinary way. It is a 100% heavy rum, distilled using the pot still method from sugar cane honey and then carefully aged and blended.
Production and aging:
The 2008 rums were aged for 12 years in a combination of three types of barrels – bourbon, malt whiskey, and new American oak barrels. To perfectly refine its character, the rum was then stored for one year in oloroso sherry barrels, which give it depth, complexity, and an elegant sweetness.
Tasting profile:
Color: Mahogany, rich and warm, with amber highlights.
Aroma: Rich and harmonious. It carries distinctive notes of caramel, vanilla, candied fruit, and a subtle hint of sherry, which contribute to its complexity and enticing aroma.
Taste: Full, round and precisely balanced. Dominated by notes of vanilla, caramel, dried fruit (e.g. figs, raisins) and subtle hints of sherry, which give the rum elegance and nobility. The texture is smooth and warm, with a slight sweetness and a smooth finish.
Finish: Long, slightly sweet with notes of dried fruit, wood and vanilla. The harmonious and elegant aftertaste invites you to take another sip.
