R. Jelínek Čačanská rodná slivovitz 2013 single cask is a unique plum brandy in a limited edition from 2013, which comes from the first really rich and successful harvest of Vizovice's own plums of the Čačanská rodná variety, known for its excellent taste and high sugar content.
Properties and ripening:
R. Jelínek Čačanská rodná slivovitz 2013 single cask was distilled from carefully selected, fully ripe fruit, making it one of the best creations of its vintage. The uniqueness of this drink is enhanced by its ten-year maturation in glass demijohns, which ensures its exceptional flavour and aroma. With an alcohol content of 48.5% and a limited edition of 395 bottles, this plum brandy is a true treasure for collectors and lovers of fine spirits.
Flavour profile:
R. Jelínek Čačanská rodná slivovitz 2013 single cask is characterised by a pleasantly sweet taste with bright notes of stones and a hint of fudge. Its complex aroma and taste are a perfect reflection of the quality and character of the Čačanská rodná variety, which was bred in 1961 in Yugoslavia.
About the variety:
Čačanská rodná is a plum variety with ovoid, medium-sized, purple-blue fruit, which is characterised by a sweet, winding flavour and is highly valued for its high sugar content. This variety is known for its susceptibility to scab and moderate resistance to frost and fungal diseases. Harvesting takes place from late August to early September, which is the ideal time for optimum ripeness and sugar content.
About R. Jelínek:
RUDOLF JELÍNEK continues the rich tradition of distilled spirits production in Wallachia, which dates back to 1585. At that time, the Vizovice manor testified to the existence of a distillery, which originally used beer waste and later grain to produce rye brandy.
Nowadays, the company is focusing on expanding its orchards, which is key to controlling the quality of the raw materials. With 188 hectares of its own orchards in the Czech Republic and others abroad, RUDOLF JELÍNEK ensures that every piece of fruit used in its spirits is carefully selected and processed on modern equipment, but with traditional practices.
About R. Jelínek Plum Orchards:
In the heart of Moravia, precisely in and around Vizovice, there is a vast area of plum orchards. In total, R. Jelínek owns 84 hectares of land, sixty hectares of which are used directly in Těchlov and on Janova Hora. Their growing efforts are constantly expanding, not only in these traditional locations, but also in new areas - in Ludkovice near Luhačovice, Lípa nad Dřevnicí and in the idyllic village of Kostelany.
The beginning of planting our own plum orchards dates back to 2003, when the first trees were planted in Těchlov. Today, the area is home to thousands of plum trees divided into five zones: Nade Dvorem, Nad Statkem, Dolní Menšík, U Studny and U Střelnice. In total, there are more than 23 000 trees of different plum varieties.
Nine varieties have been selected for the production of Vizovice plum brandy, which have proved themselves most successful in these conditions. These are Čačanská lepotica, Stanley, Gabrovská, TopTaste, Presenta, Valjevka, Haganta, Katinka and Čačanská rodná. These varieties have been carefully selected for their specific characteristics, which contribute to the unique character of our plum brandy.
