Dictador Bosquejo American Oak 2007 is a limited-edition vintage release from the Dictador Vintages collection, featuring rums carefully hand-selected by Hernán Parra, a third-generation member of the Parra family. The Bosquejo series is inspired by the Spanish word for “sketch” and refers to a creative approach where each batch offers a slightly different, distinctive character.
This 2007 vintage was aged for 16 years in American oak barrels and offers a robust, earthier, and distinctly characterful profile. Only 318 bottles were produced. This is a rum that relies more on depth, woodiness, and darker tones than on sweetness, and as a result, it will appeal to lovers of drier, more mature, and complexly structured rums.
Tasting Profile:
Nose: Leather, licorice, hints of patchouli oil, robust and earthy character.
Palate: Aged leather, rich cigar tobacco, deep vanilla, hints of earthy forest soil.
Finish: Earthy and rich, with notes of leather and vanilla.
Dictador Bosquejo American Oak 2007 is a rum with a darker, earthy, and distinctly mature style. It is perfectly suited for slow, solitary sipping, when its depth, structure, and elegant robustness are best appreciated.
About the Dictador brand:
Dictador was born in Colombia, a country famous not only for its coffee but also for its ideal climate for rum maturation. The result is a rum that appeals to collectors, lovers of rare editions, and lovers of sophisticated flavors.
The Dictador brand draws inspiration from Sever Arangoy, nicknamed "El Dictador," a Spanish official who oversaw the rum trade in Cartagena de Indias, the commercial center of the Spanish colonial empire in the 18th century. The brand is named after him, and this is where the story of Dictador as a rum with authority began.
The modern era of Dictador began in 1913, when the family business of the same name was officially founded. Since then, Dictador rum has been produced with an emphasis on precision, craftsmanship, and long aging, now led by renowned master blender Hernan Parra, who is the third generation of the Parra rum family.
