Dictador Bosquejo Port 2005 is a limited edition from the prestigious Dictador Vintages collection, which features rare vintage rums hand-selected by Hernán Parra, a third-generation member of the famous Parra family. The name Bosquejo, meaning “sketch,” refers to the artistic approach to rum production—each batch is an original with a subtly different character and its own distinct expression.
This 2005 vintage aged for a total of 18 years in American oak barrels, and its final character was refined by a finish in a port barrel. The result is a rich and complex rum with an elegant blend of sweetness, nutty tones, and a subtle fruity depth. Each bottle is part of a limited series, and in this case, only 318 bottles were produced, making it an attractive piece for connoisseurs and collectors alike.
Tasting Profile:
Nose: Caramel, cinnamon, chopped hazelnuts, almond skin, pralines, light notes of vanilla.
Palate: Rich and oily, light coffee, red cherries, silky ganache, walnuts.
Finish: Long-lasting, with notes of sweet tea and marzipan.
Dictador Bosquejo Port 2005 is a rum with a smooth, layered, and collector-friendly profile. It shines when sipped slowly on its own, allowing its richness, delicate oiliness, and elegant port influence to fully unfold.
About the Dictador brand:
Dictador was born in Colombia, a country famous not only for its coffee but also for its ideal climate for rum maturation. The result is a rum that appeals to collectors, lovers of rare editions, and lovers of sophisticated flavors.
The Dictador brand draws inspiration from Sever Arangoy, nicknamed "El Dictador," a Spanish official who oversaw the rum trade in Cartagena de Indias, the commercial center of the Spanish colonial empire in the 18th century. The brand is named after him, and this is where the story of Dictador as a rum with authority began.
The modern era of Dictador began in 1913, when the family business of the same name was officially founded. Since then, Dictador rum has been produced with an emphasis on precision, craftsmanship, and long aging, now led by renowned master blender Hernan Parra, who is the third generation of the Parra rum family.
