Castello Nipozzano Riserva 2004 is a traditional Tuscan red wine from the Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG appellation, produced at the historic Castello di Nipozzano estate of the Frescobaldi family. It is one of the winery’s classic wines and distinctly reflects the character of the local terroir northeast of Florence.
The wine is composed of 90% Sangiovese, complemented by Malvasia Nera, Colorino, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes grow on dry, stony soils with clay and limestone. Fermentation was followed by a 25-day maceration and subsequent aging for 24 months in used barrique barrels.
