Product description

Dolin Vermouth de Chambéry Rouge 0,75L 16% with more than fifty sorts of herbs gives this fine red vermouth its extraordinary character. You can mix it with bourbon or Scotch and makes Negroni fresher too. It goes well with olives, cheese and dried meat. Its profile is clear and balanced, without overpowering sweetness or aftertaste.

Red and brown, dark amber color, sweet aroma of lemon peel and dried fruit, quince and Christmas spices. The perfectly balanced bitter-sweet taste, tones of citruses, almonds, pear and cinnamon, this is Dolin Vermouth de Chambéry Rouge.

Dolin Vermouth de Chambéry was made in 1821. Since then it has drawn inspiration from natural richness of Alps. Today Dolin is one of the last independent producers of vermouth, and the last one, who produces Vermouth de Chambéry. The authentic products are made by using the original techniques, thanks to these the Vermouth de Chambéry gained in thirties the controlled designation of origin AOC (Appellation d'origine contrôlée). In 19th century Dolin won awards in Philadelphia, St. Louis and London. Until today represents the benchmark for quality of French vermouth.

In the original production recipe of base wine, the local white grapes were used. But the damaging phylloxera led to replanting of the region with red and overly sweet white grapes. Wine for vermouth, same as cognac or Armagnac, must be very light and neutral. No wonder, still the base wines are chosen from the vineyard Armagnac in Gers. But the main ingredients and secret of Dolin remain the local herbs and aromatic plants from Alpine meadows over Chambéry.
