Product description

Dictador Generations en Lalique 1976 is an exceptionally rare Colombian rum that combines the craftsmanship of the Dictador brand with the artistry of the French crystal house Lalique. The limited edition consists of just 300 handcrafted decanters, each bearing its own engraved number.

Production:

This exceptional rum was created by master blender Hernan Parra together with his father, Dario Parra. The blend is based on carefully selected 1976 vintages that were aged in American oak barrels and port wine casks. The result is a deep, complex, and exceptionally layered spirit intended primarily for collectors, connoisseurs, and investors in luxury spirits.

Bottle Design:

The decanter designed by Lalique is not merely a container, but a work of art in its own right. The irregularly shaped crystal surface evokes the structure of nature and underscores the uniqueness of each piece.

The luxurious packaging also includes a crystal stopper and a small tasting bottle, which allows you to sample the rum without having to open the main decanter. The entire set is housed in a prestigious case designed with an emphasis on collectible value.

Tasting Profile:

Aroma: Freshly polished wood, leather, ripe plums, and cloves. Also cocoa powder, black cherries, nutmeg, cinnamon, mahogany, grilled pineapple, and rose petals.

Taste: Dark chocolate, flambéed orange peel, and cloves complemented by nutmeg, dry oak, leather, and Madagascar vanilla. High-quality coffee, star anise, and the sweetness of ripe fruit are added.

Finish: Long, smoky, and layered, with roasted cigar tobacco, oak spice, raisins, stewed plums, Medjool dates, fig leaves, and dark chocolate.

The aroma initially reveals freshly polished wood, leather, and ripe plums. Gradually, cloves, cocoa powder, black cherries, nutmeg, and cinnamon emerge. Deeper notes of mahogany are complemented by grilled pineapple and a delicate floral hint of rose petals.

The palate opens with dark chocolate, flambéed orange peel, and cloves. This is followed by nutmeg, dry oak, leather, and Madagascar vanilla. Coffee and star anise add another layer, while ripe fruit balances the earthier, spicy notes.

Recommended serving:

Neat at room temperature.

Dictador Generations en Lalique 1976 represents a union of rare historical rum, the Parra family’s art of blending, and French Lalique crystal. It is an exceptional collector’s item that combines a luxurious spirit, artistic craftsmanship, and extremely limited availability.

About the Dictador brand:

Dictador was born in Colombia, a country famous not only for its coffee but also for its ideal climate for rum maturation. The result is a rum that appeals to collectors, lovers of rare editions, and lovers of sophisticated flavors.

The Dictador brand draws inspiration from Sever Arangoy, nicknamed "El Dictador," a Spanish official who oversaw the rum trade in Cartagena de Indias, the commercial center of the Spanish colonial empire in the 18th century. The brand is named after him, and this is where the story of Dictador as a rum with authority began.

The modern era of Dictador began in 1913, when the family business of the same name was officially founded. Since then, Dictador rum has been produced with an emphasis on precision, craftsmanship, and long aging, now led by renowned master blender Hernan Parra, who is the third generation of the Parra rum family.
