Appleton Estate 8 Year Old Reserve is a premium aged Jamaican rum from the Nassau Valley, created to honor the 250th anniversary of the Appleton Estate brand. This blend of pot-still and column-distilled rums was crafted by Joy Spence and aged for at least 8 years in Jamaica’s tropical climate.
Production:
The rum is produced using Jamaican water filtered through limestone, with no added flavorings. Thanks to its aging in a tropical environment, it acquires a distinctive yet beautifully balanced character with notes of spicy fruit, oak, honey, vanilla, and festive spices. A characteristic note of orange peel adds a fresher, fruitier signature to the aroma, while the finish offers smoothness, molasses, and warm oak.
Tasting Profile:
Color: Vibrant honey-bronze with a subtle green ring from aging.
Aroma: Spicy fruit, oak, honey, vanilla, festive spices, and a characteristic note of orange peel.
Finish: Exceptionally smooth and balanced, with hints of molasses and warm oak.
Serving:
Appleton Estate 8 Year Old Reserve is suitable for sipping on its own or in premium rum cocktails. It really shines, for example, in a Mai Tai, where its mature profile adds depth, fruitiness, and an elegant Jamaican character to the drink.

About the Appleton Estate brand:
Appleton Estate is one of Jamaica’s most prominent rum producers, and its history dates back to 1749, when the brand first appeared in records as a rum plantation. It is located in the Nassau Valley in Jamaica and is considered the oldest continuously operating distillery on the island.
The character of Appleton Estate rums is closely tied to the local terroir. The Nassau Valley offers a unique combination of a lush climate, fertile soil, and mineral-rich water that naturally filters through limestone bedrock. It is this limestone-filtered water, together with Jamaica’s climate and traditional production methods, that helps shape the distinctive flavor profile of Appleton Estate rums.
The brand is built on the connection between history, origin, and artisanal tradition. Its rums are meant to express the true spirit of Jamaica—rich, vibrant, and authentic. Appleton Estate is therefore the choice for those seeking a Jamaican rum with a clear origin, a long history, and a distinctive identity.
