Opthimus 18Y Sistema Solera is a mature rum with a distinctive character, based on long aging and precise work with barrels. Its elegant mahogany color with bright reflections suggests that this is a full-bodied and deep spirit intended for slow enjoyment.
Aging and origin:
The rum comes from the Dominican Republic and is produced under the supervision of Oliver & Oliver. It is aged using the Solera system in used American and French white oak barrels. The combination of both types of wood gives the rum complexity—American oak brings softness and vanilla tones, while French oak adds structure and spiciness.
Tasting profile:
Color: Mahogany with bright reflections.
Aroma: Sugar cane, sweet spices, fine chocolate, toasted oak, and vanilla.
Taste: Strong and spicy, yet smooth and slightly sweet, with a very long finish.
Opthimus 18Y Sistema Solera is a traditionally blended rum with an emphasis on depth, harmony, and a long-lasting taste. Thanks to its balance and smooth expression, it is suitable for both experienced rum lovers and as a representative bottle for a collection or an elegant gift.
About OLIVER & OLIVER:
OLIVER & OLIVER is a family company with rich Cuban origins, now based in the heart of the Dominican Republic. The company is known for its passion for producing and marketing premium craft rums, with each brand, such as Opthimus, Quorhum, Cubaney, and others, unique in character, aroma, and taste.
OLIVER & OLIVER is distinguished by its innovative approach to rum aging, which is based on an adaptation of the traditional Spanish solera method. At least twice a year, they select and blend mother rums that form the basis for the next production cycle.
Most OLIVER & OLIVER rums are produced in limited and numbered editions, which gives each bottle exclusivity and increases its collector's value. This approach emphasizes the family heritage and artistry that goes into every stage of production.
