Brugal 1888 is a premium Dominican rum whose character is shaped by a process of double aging in two different types of barrels. First, it gains depth and structure in ex-bourbon barrels, then matures in ex-sherry barrels. The result is a rich, complex, yet perfectly balanced rum with fruity, caramel, spicy, and cocoa notes.

Color: Deep amber with rich red undertones, clear and bright.

Aroma: Red and dried fruits, raisins, dates, spiced wood, and cinnamon.

Taste: Full-bodied, smooth, and balanced, with notes of caramel, vanilla, peach, cocoa, and cloves.

The aroma reveals a pronounced sweetness of red and dried fruits, raisins, and dates, complemented by spiced wood and a hint of cinnamon. The palate is full-bodied and smooth. Caramel and vanilla blend with peach, cocoa, and cloves, while oak provides the necessary structure and balances the sweeter notes. The long and elegant finish is accompanied by a subtle hint of honey.

Brugal was founded in the Dominican Republic in 1888 and has been carrying on the tradition of Dominican rum production for over 135 years. The craft has been passed down through five generations of Maestros Roneros, who oversee the selection of barrels, the aging process, and the final blends.
