Austrian Empire Navy Rum Reserva 1863

Reserva 1863 comes from Barbados and is crafted from aged rums drawn from hand-selected barrels. The spirits, aged approximately 5 to 12 years, mature in American and French oak barrels. The result is an elegant, medium-bodied rum with a distinctive aroma, a subtle sweetness, and a long finish.

Austrian Empire Navy Rum Solera 18

Solera 18 comes from the Dominican Republic and is aged in oak barrels using the traditional Solera system. The blend includes distillates up to 18 years old, with an average age of approximately 12 years. It offers a richer and darker character with pronounced notes of fruit, wood, chocolate, and caramel.

Gift and Tasting Set:

This set is perfect for sampling two distinct styles from the Austrian Empire Navy Rum brand. Reserva 1863 offers the smoother, vanilla-cocoa character of Barbados rum, while Solera 18 is fuller-bodied, woodier, and spicier. Both rums can be enjoyed neat or used in classic rum cocktails.

About Albert Michler Distillery:

Albert Michler is one of the oldest rum brands in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire. Its story began in 1863 in Buchsdorf, Silesia – now part of the Czech Republic – where founder Albert Michler established a distillery and rum distillery that soon became a supplier to the imperial court and the Austro-Hungarian navy.

Albert Michler was not only an experienced producer of liqueurs and rums, but also a visionary. His Original Buchsdorfer Magenbitter became famous not only for its taste, but also for its alleged healing properties. During the cholera epidemic of 1866, he set up an emergency hospital and used his herbal liqueurs as part of the treatment for infected soldiers.

After World War II, the original distillery was closed, but the brand did not disappear. Today, it continues its legacy under the name Albert Michler Distillery Int. Ltd. in the United Kingdom, with great respect for the traditions and legacy of its founder. Michler rums and liqueurs are now made from the finest ingredients sourced from Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, and the Dominican Republic, with quality, craftsmanship, and respect for history remaining key.
